A separate part of our probate practice involves obtaining guardianships and/or conservatorships over adults. Most often, these occur when adult children are seeking guardianship or conservatorship over their elderly parents who are suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s, a stroke or are otherwise unable to make significant responsible decisions with their finances and their personal care. We assist you in obtaining all the powers Georgia law allows so that you can properly care for your loved one.
We also help individuals seeking guardianship and/or conservatorship for a minor child who has lost his or her parents or whose parents are unable to care for him or her. We will ensure you have the tools available under the law to properly raise and care for the child.
I highly recommend Liz Pope and The Pope Law Firm. She guided me through the complex guardianship and conservatorship issues with my mother with compassion and skill. Liz is most competent, and has a wonderful personality to match.
Liz Pope went above and beyond to secure the guardianship of my daughter after the loss of my wife. Liz and her staff are very professional, courteous and treated us more like family than just another client. Not only did they get through the entire process quickly, but with minimal effort from my part.
